random non-connected thoughts...

it's been a while and a lot has happened in my life in the last few weeks as well as in the lives of so many, so i thought i'd just put some random thoughts, reflections on this short new year...

...to my friend Ron...I can't imagine what you are going through, watching those you love pass, its not fair, its unbelievably not fair, know that i love you and am mourning with you...

...my sis-in-law got married last weekend and i had some time throughout the weekend to reflect on this past 2.5 yrs of marriage that i've been able to enjoy.  i cannot even begin to try to imagine how my life would be different now had i not been blessed with Mandy, i love you sweets, thank you for loving and putting up with me...

...yesterday was MLK day, today the inauguration of Obama...i can only imagine what it is like for so many to watch Dr. King's dream continue to unfold...i'm thankful to have been able to learn and continue to learn from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr...

...God has put us in some awesome situations to show God's grace and feel God's pain at the wandering of those who don't know God...I thank God for being allowed to show God's compassion, I thank God for opportunities to cry tears, and I thank God for being given the opportunity to journey with someone who desires to be baptized and has asked me to do it...

...we've got 4 different dcafs going right now, thats what we are calling our 'bible studies' because, well, they are a bit more than bible studies; its church...its so wonderful to see how God is using us right where we are...

...my lil bro is a daddy again. i'm blessed with 2 adorable nieces, who also know who to root for...you should see the pictures on mike and heather's facebook pages...all decked out in Steelers gear!  i'm proud of you lil man, and i can honestly say i'm a bit jealous :) .  you are and are going to continue to be a great dad!

...the lessons i'm learning are great and wonderful and a pain in my rearend...keep breaking me Oh Lord, and may I no longer live, but only Christ who lives within me...

happy January everyone
